Historic Steam Engine Boilers

 

We have re-engineered a number of historic steam engine boilers in conjunction with Ainsworth Engineering in Goulburn NSW.

 

These boilers are from the early part of the 20th century, so around 100 years old, and after their useful working life was over in the 1930's and 1940's, they continued to be maintained and operated by enthusiasts.

 

Through regular maintenance and reduced steam operating pressures, it was possible to continue to use these engines for a number of decades. Many now though have deteriorated to the point where they cannot continued to be used safely at any pressure and must be rebuilt. They must be rebuilt to modern regulations and safety requirements, so structural analysis is required, and sublte modifications made without losing their character.
